Chocolate Peanut Butter Homemade Brownies

Nothing tastes quite a good to me as warm chocolate peanut butter homemade brownies.

I especially love the slightly crunchy top and the gooey inside, but once they cool they are more cake like.

These brownies are like comfort food at its finest for me, espeically when they are slightly warm.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Homemade Brownies

Peanut butter and chocolate are the perfect combination for so many people, and this homemade brownie combines both flavors.

I prefer to use either homemade peanut butter or an all natural store bought peanut butter, but you can use whatever kind you prefer.

I also prefer an unsweetened dark chocolate cocoa powder instead of regular cocoa powder, but again the choice is yours.

Dark chocolate is actually healthier for you and while homemade brownies are not a health food, I feel like choosing ingredients that are healthier and less sugary are the better choice.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and line an 8” x 8” pan with parchment paper then spray it with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Mix all the ingredients for the chocolate layer in a large mixing bowl, add in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt last.
  3. Then lightly fold in the flour and cocoa powder until just mixed. Do not over mix the ingredients or the brownies will turn out cake-like.
  4. Mix the ingredients for the peanut butter brownie layer, again saving the flour, baking powder and salt for last and stirring until just mixed.
  5. Spread peanut butter brownie layer on the bottom of the pan and top it with the chocolate brownie layer, spreading the batter for both layers as evenly as possible.
  6. Bake for 22 minutes.
  7. Brownies will still be soft and gooey, but will finish setting up as they cool.
