Quick And Easy Cast Iron Skillet Cinnamon Roll Recipe

This quick and easy cast iron skillet cinnamon roll recipe is made using Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls and your favorite cast iron skillet.

Now, it’s not homemade, but sometimes there simply isn’t time to make cinnamon rolls from scratch, not to mention if you’re going camping, it just isn’t practical.

Of course, if you really wanted to make your own cinnamon rolls ahead of time, you certainly could and then simply bake them in a cast iron skillet.

One thing I love about Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls is they are versatile, so you don’t have to just make plain old cinnamon rolls if you don’t want to.

Top them off with pecans, coconut or even fruit.

Or better yet, unroll the dough and stuff them with your nuts or fruit and then roll them back up.

Another option is to use them as the crust on an apple pie casserole.

However you eat them, making them in a cast iron skillet is recommended because they bake up quicker than in other types of pans.

Cast Iron Skillet Cinnamon Roll Recipe Advantages

One of the real advantages of making cinnamon rolls, rather they are homemade cinnamon rolls or store bought ones that you simply bake, in a cast iron skillet is the mess is easy to clean up.

The morning that I made Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls for us, I decided to make four instead of the entire package.

That was easy enough to do in my cast iron skillet and best of all, they did not stick.

Then instead of removing them right away, I made the decision to put the icing on them in the cast iron skillet.

I knew the icing would drain down and cover the cinnamon rolls without making a mess on the counter and the cooling rack that I would need to clean up.

The icing easily rinsed out of the cast iron skillet and did not leave a sticky residue that I needed to scrub.

Tips For Making This Cast Iron Skillet Cinnamon Roll Recipe

Anytime you cook in cast iron, the most important thing to keep in mind is the dark color attracts heat and holds it easier than lighter colored cookware.

This means the food browns slightly faster and often doesn’t need to cook quite as long.

I always recommend going with the least amount of time recommended on the package.

I baked the Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls for 13 minutes and they were done.

Keep in mind the directions say to bake them for 13 to 17 minutes.

They also recommend baking them at 375 degrees Fahrenheit if you are using a dark pan instead of the normal 400 degrees Fahrenheit they recommend for glass or light colored pans.

I was quite happy with how ours turned out.

They were well browned on the outside and flaky on the inside, just like they should have been.

Using pre-made cinnamon rolls from Pillsbury really does make the best cinnamon rolls.
