My first granddaughter loved ducks and that love of ducks inspired me to create my first quilled project since my school days. I bought a beginning quilling kit since it had everything already in it and I wasn't sure if I really wanted to invest a lot of money in this particular craft since I have so many different interests. I created these two ducks following the instructions that came with the kit, then decided they were ideal for putting on a gift tag for a newborn baby.
The "Welcome Little One" paper with the diaper pin was a cutout from one of my craft magazines. It was part of the "freebie" section. I then used fabric rick rack to trim the edges of the paper. That is all there was to making this card. It truly was so simple and the card - in my opinion - is adorable.
I feel like the small amount of rick rack and the quilled ducks really add dimension and texture to this tag even though the tag itself already has some texture to it. What do you think?
