Disclaimer: I received this product/service at a reduced price or for free. All opinions are my own and are my honest opinions based on my own experience with the product.

I received the Sili Bake Silicone Pastry Mat approximately a week or so ago. I was excited when I saw this pastry mat since it contains weight conversions, oven temperature conversions and liquid measure conversions right on the mat not to mention a recipe for both sugar cookies and pie crust. How convenient! I also liked the idea of having a ruler that went along the sides to measure both inches and cm. The center of the mat has circles that allow you to easily measure and shape a pie crust, pizza dough or other larger pasty item in any size from 5 inches to 10 inches. There are also circles for shaping 2 inch and 3 inch cookies. The design of this pastry mat was very well thought out.

I also liked that the sili bake pastry mat is freezer, oven and dishwasher safe – but cleans just as easily with soap and water for those who prefer hand washing. It is BPA-free, FDA and LFGB approved. It is heat resistant to 430 degrees F or 220 degrees C which means I can use it when I work with my Isomalt. The measurements are 14.9 inches by 23.3 inches so there is plenty of room to work on it without feeling crowded or covering up the recipes with your pastry item.

Once I had the Sili Bake Silicone Pastry unwrapped (and it is wrapped well for shipping) I laid it out on my stove top and noticed it seemed to cling to it. This is wonderful because I won’t have to worry about it sliding off my stove top, counter top or table when I am trying to roll dough or cookies out. The pastry mat also has a non-stick surface so I can eliminate using so much extra flour or oil to keep my pastry items from sticking to the surface of whatever I am rolling them out on. Another plus for me personally is I can eliminate a lot of the wax paper and parchment paper I currently use when I make pastry or cookies.

I really like how lightweight the pastry mat is and how it lays perfectly flat even after being rolled into a tight bundle inside the box it came in. I do have some other silicon pastry mats – and a wooden one – without a doubt the Sili Bake Silcone Pastry Mat is the one I will reach for. It gets an A+++ from me.

Please note: this mat is not intended to be cut on, scraped on or have a hard brush used with it. It is truly for rolling out and shaping dough by hand.
