I have ate a lot of chocolate in my life. I like dark chocolate, not milk chocolate. I can do without the sugared up, flavored down wannabe chocolate that most companies sell. Yes, I am picky. I have grown chocolate trees just to get fresh picked cocoa beans so I could make my own chocolate. I have to say the Kiva Organic Cocoa Powder passes my taste test. I love the dark, rich flavor the powered Criollo cacao beans produce. The #kivaCacao is simply the best powered cacao I have ever bought. I know if you truly love the rich, dark taste of pure chocolate you are going to love this product.

I use chocolate in a lot of recipes. One of the reasons I love dark chocolate so much is the health benefits. Raw, organic cocoa beans – even pre-ground – are in my opinion certainly going to be healthier than processed cocoa beans. I feel you lose quality and taste during the long processing that cacao beans typically go through. The moment the #kivaCacao powder went into my mouth I knew I was tasting pure chocolate that had not been processed, thus the pure chocolate taste I desire will go into every recipe I use this cocoa powder in. That is going to make my recipes taste that much better.

In addition to using the Kiva Organic Cocoa Powder for all the normal things – cakes, cookies, icings, dessert toppings, hot chocolate or chocolate milk – I use cocoa powder as a meat seasoning. Yes, you read that right. It is delicious on beef. Try a little bit in taco meat. You will notice the taste difference. Chocolate gives meat a richer, deeper taste. Unless you tell someone you put chocolate in the recipe they won’t know. It does not make food taste like candy.

The Kiva Organic Cocoa Powder comes in a large 16 ounce bag that is resealable. This is going to keep the cocoa powder fresh. I keep mine in the refrigerator because I feel it keeps it fresher. The powder – straight out of the bag – has a smooth taste. The powder itself is ground very fine. This is going to make it blend into recipes much easier. I also noticed the powder did not cake even after being refrigerated.

If you love using cocoa powder and love the taste of pure dark chocolate as much as I do, you will love the Kiva Organic Cocoa Powder. Give it a try. You will notice the taste difference right away.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
