I do a lot of baking - especially during the holidays. I use cooling racks all the time. When I saw the Bellemain Heavy-Duty Cooling Rack it reminded me so much of my jerky making rack that I wanted to try it. You see the problem with some cooling racks is the softer cookies or smaller items such as petite fours want to fall through or sit crooked instead of staying upright. This is because of the way they are designed. The Bellemain Heavy-Duty Pastry-Chef Quality Oven Safe Cooling Rack is designed like a grid and this design keeps soft cookies intact plus it allows them to cool flat. It also makes it easier to cool smaller items such as petite fours.

The Bellemain Heavy-Duty Pastry-Chef Quality Oven Safe Cooling Rack fit perfectly inside one of my cookie trays. This meant any little crumbs that did fall off were easy to catch and dispose of. It also made moving the rack with cookies on it a breeze. I like that this rack sits fairly low to the table instead of having legs that bend out. It really does make a difference in stability especially if you have to move the rack with food on it. I have a very small kitchen so I am constantly moving cookies or cakes from my stove top to my dining room table to make room.

I feel this would make a good jerky making rack as well. It is almost identical to the one I bought for that purpose. The rack is very heavy-duty and well made. It is also good for decorating cookies on. The excess icing falls through and if you put a tray under it, cleanup is easy. You don't have to worry about your freshly decorated cookies, cakes or other items falling off the rack either because of the way it is made.
