Go Green! A Family Guide To A Sustainable Lifestyle Book Review

Disclosure/Disclaimer: I received products mentioned in this post for free or at a reduced price in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

I don’t write about a lot of children’s book on this blog for obvious reasons, but the Disney’s Mickey & Friends Collection Go Green! A Family Guide To A Sustainable Lifestyle certainly fits in with the organic living homesteading theme of my blog and so I wanted to check this book out.

Teaching our children or grandchildren how to live a sustainable lifestyle and what changes they can make in their daily lives to achieve this goal is important.

Go Green! A Family Guide To A Sustainable Lifestyle is the first book in a brand new series from Disney titled Go Green!

I have not seen any of the other books but I can tell you if they are anything like this one, you will want the entire series – but for now, let’s take a closer look at this book.

First Impressions Of Go Green! A Family Guide To A Sustainable Lifestyle

The book is a hardback and filled with lots of colorful, relevant pictures of Disney’s Mickey Mouse and his friends.

This alone makes the book fun and something every Disney fan is going to want to add to their collection.

The pages are very eye-catching which will appeal to small children, making it an ideal book for parents to read to their kids.

The text on the pages is clean looking and best of all there is not so much text that children will get bored before each lesson is complete.

The one drawback is that younger children who the Mickey Mouse characters appeal to the most might not be able to read this book on their own because it does have some complex concepts and vocabulary in it.

With that said, there are tips. a did you know section, plus fun, unique green activities meant for the entire family to  participate in such as watching your garden grow.

There is a materials list as well as a lot of tips to help people get started living a greener lifestyle, but again, these are not activities meant for children to do on their own.

Go Green! A Family Guide To A Sustainable Lifestyle Is Filled With Easy Manageable Steps

Green! A Family Guide To A Sustainable Lifestyle teaches readers of all ages how to understand your ecological footprint, how to reduce, reuse and recycle – the three r’s of sustainability and the importance of eating locally.

Activities include seasonal crafts and there is even a section on how to grow your own organic garden.

Best of all, this book teaches both children and adults that adopting a sustainable lifestyle is not going to happen overnight.

This type of change takes time and is a step-by-step process that may feel slow or difficult, but can be done.

The entire process is broken down in this book into easy, manageable steps that the entire family can achieve together.

An Adult’s Perspective On Go Green! A Family Guide To A Sustainable Lifestyle

As an adult sometimes children’s books are just not appealing.

Disney’s Mickey & Friends Collection Go Green! A Family Guide To A Sustainable Lifestyle is very interesting and I truly enjoyed reading it.

This is an ideal reference book and it would be perfect to use for those who homeschool or even in a classroom setting although it does cover family values such as making good choices, love, truth and peace.

Even though I try to live a sustainable lifestyle, I have to admit I learned things from this book that I was unaware of.

There is more that I should be doing and I feel like it is going to be very easy to make these changes thanks to this book.

A sustainable lifestyle is something we should all strive for and I encourage you – even if you don’t have children – to check out this book.

One step at a time we can Go Green and begin to live a sustainable lifestyle that will help save the environment!
