Product Review: Ozeri Touch II Kitchen Scale

Disclaimer: I received the product for free. All opinions are my own honest thoughts on the product.

I received the Ozeri ZK13-5PW Touch II Professional Digital Kitchen Scale with Microban Antimicrobial Product Protection for testing purposes. The first thing that I noticed was how lightweight the scale was. I have several other kitchen scales that are much larger and I that I don’t like using them because of the difficulty I have moving them around – especially when I have to pack them up to take them to the Farmer’s Market. The Ozeri ZK13-5PW Touch II Professional Digital Kitchen Scale with Microban Antimicrobial Product Protection has already proven itself easier to use in the past week alone plus it will take up a lot less space in my totes when I do go to the Farmer’s Market.

The day it arrived, I unpacked the kitchen scale, removed the plastic insulating strip around the battery and weighed an egg that my hens had just laid. Yes, I was that excited to see how well it worked. The LED display was easy for me to read and I could choose if I wanted it to weigh in pounds, grams, ounces, fl. ounces or ml. It has a weight capacity of 11 pounds – and this is the one thing I would change.

Today I had to weigh 24 pounds of tomatoes and I was not real happy about having to do the math on paper because of the limited weight capacity.

Mine is white and it is very sleek looking. Very nice and I am proud to display it not only in my kitchen but also at my Farmer’s Market stand. It cleans easily by simply wiping it down with a damp cloth – and although you should not soak or submerge the scale in water or expose it to moisture, it is waterproof. The Microban Antimicrobial Product Protection is guaranteed not to wear away for the life of the scale.

Cell phones or other electromagnetic interference can cause the scale to malfunction, but I always have my iPhone with me and often use my iPad in the kitchen. To date I have not had an issue.

The scale is very user friendly with just two buttons. The unit button and the tare button which is also used to turn the unit on and off. You can zero it out after you put a container on it which is great if you are measuring liquid or other items that need to be placed in a container.

Now that I am into molecular gastronomy cooking, I know this scale is going to be even more useful – and I do love the digital display. The Ozeri ZK13-5PW Touch II Professional Digital Kitchen Scale with Microban Antimicrobial Product Protection is a wonderful scale and I highly recommend it!
