Garlic Scape Flower Slow Cooker Broth Recipe

Instructions

  1. Pour the garlic broth into the slow cooker and turn it on low.
  2. Chop the garlic scape flowers into one inch long sections.
  3. Put the butter into a pan and turn the heat on low.
  4. Once the butter is melted, add the garlic scape flower pieces and sauté until the scapes are translucent.
  5. Add the thyme, nutmeg, Kosher Salt and pepper.
  6. Sauté for five more minutes.
  7. Scrap the contents of the pan into the broth in the slow cooker.
  8. Add the lemon juice.
  9. Stir to combine and cook for 4 hours on low heat.
  10. Once the broth is done, strain the broth through some cheesecloth to remove the garlic scapes.
  11. Refrigerate, freeze or use the garlic scape flower broth right away.
