Honey Marinade Ham With Spiced Orange Sauce

A pre-sliced Frick's Gourmet Ham With Natural Juices glazed with an orange honey sauce and sitting on a platter of orange slices.

  • Frick’s Gourmet Ham With Natural Juices
  • Honey Marinade
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 Tablespoon raw honey
  • 1 Tablespoon brown butter
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon orange extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 whole oranges, sliced

Instructions

  1. Marinade the ham in the honey marinade for three hours in the refrigerator.
  2. Remove the ham from the marinade and pat it dry.
  3. Place the ham back in the refrigerator in a covered dish and refrigerate for a minimum of three hours. Leaving it overnight is fine.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit once you are ready to bake the ham.
  5. Place the butter in a pan and heat it up until it turns a deep brown color.
  6. Remove the pan from the heat and add the honey, orange extract, cinnamon and nutmeg.
  7. Stir to combine all the ingredients.
  8. Brush half of the glaze on the top and sides of the ham.
  9. Pour the half cup of water in the bottom of the pan the ham is in.
  10. Cover the ham with aluminum foil.
  11. Place it in the 350 degree preheated oven, on the center rack and bake it for 20 minutes.
  12. Place the orange slices onto the platter the ham is going to sit on while the ham is baking.
  13. Remove the pan from the oven and remove the ham placing it on top of the orange slices.
  14. Cover the ham with a foil tent and set the platter it is on aside.
  15. Pour any juices that were in the pan the ham was cooked into the pan with the remaining glaze.
  16. Stir to combine the glaze and the liquid.
  17. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  18. Continue to boil the mixture, stirring occasionally until the mixture is reduced to a thick sauce.
  19. Remove the foil tent from the ham.
  20. Drizzle the sauce on the ham making sure to save some to drizzle on the ham slices on each plate.
  21. Serve immediately.
