Cheap Halloween Decorations From Empty Toilet Paper Rolls
Materials
- a piece of toilet paper roll
- a piece of green and black construction paper
- 2 pcs. small googly eyes
- a roll of orange yarn
- hot glue sticks
- a permanent pen

Instructions
Gather all of the materials needed for this project before you begin.- Draw a 2 to 3 inch wide rectangle on a piece of green construction paper.
- Cut the rectangle out.
- Wrap the green rectangle on one side of the toilet paper roll. Make sure that the ends meet and hot glue the ends. Hold it in place until the hot glue dries, but be careful not to touch the spot where the hot glue is or else you could burn yourself.
- Take a piece of yarn and create a tight zigzag on the top edge of the green area of the toilet paper roll. This is for her bangs. The zigzag should be at least a 1/4 inch in width and the length of the zigzag should be at least 1 to 1 1/2 inches.
- Cut the curves on the bottom of the zigzag one by one. This will serve as the topmost part of the hair or the bangs of the witch.
- Cut three four inch long strands of yard and glue the yarn on both ends of the bangs. This will be the main hair of the witch. The length of the hair should be as long or longer than the green portions of the toilet paper roll. Hot glue the top of the hair strands to secure each strand of hair.
- Hot glue a pair of small googly eyes just below the bangs of the witch.
- Draw a long nose just below the eyes using a black permanent marker. Draw other details like the mouth, pimples, a mole or anything that could make the witch ugly.
- Cut three strips of black construction paper. Theses should be at least 1 1/4 inches wide. Create several 3/4 inch parallel cuts on the bottoms of the black strips.
- Wrap the black strips one by one around the toilet paper roll. The uncut part of the black strip should be on top while the bottom of the strip should be aligned with the bare end of the toilet paper roll. Hot glue the ends of the black strip and cut the excess paper off once the hot glue is dry.
- Curl each small strip of the black paper using the ends of the permanent pen.
- Continue wrapping the second and the third layer to the body of the witch. Be sure to leave a slight space in between the black strips so that the effect of each layer is seen, but do not leave a large enough space so the toilet paper roll is easy to see. Cut the excess from each of the black strips just as you did with the first black strip. The last or the third layer should touch the ends of the green part of the toilet paper roll.
- Make sure to curl the remaining small strips on each layer.
- Create a cone from the black construction paper. This will be the hat of the witch.
- Cut the lower part of the coned paper and make sure that the widest end fits the diameter of the toilet paper roll.
- Cut the bottom or the widest edge with several short strips. Fold the short strips outwards. This will serve as the brim of the witch’s hat.
- Hot glue the hat on top of the witch’s head.
- Once the hot glue is dry, you can display your finished project.
