Thank you so much Rhonda! I appreciate that! I hesitate to speak out now because of getting so much backlash from people, but I just had to. I am dealing with a lot - and I know God is there. I wonder why me - quite often - but I know there is a reason. I just pray everyday that I have enough strength to make it through. "One Day At A Time" - that is all I can do. Love you too!

Oh Sheri, I had no idea all that was going on.....Wow. I will keep you and Jerry and your dad in prayer. God is watching and knows every detail, every concern, every tear you have shed. Matthew 6:33 "But first be concerned about God's kingdom and his righteousness, and all of these things will be provided for you as well." Romans 15:13 "I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit." That on is my "life verse". Put your trust/faith in God and His son Jesus, and He will meet your every need. He promised! Hold Him to His word! I am! Love you, Rhonda

Thank you Leigh! Believe it or not, I was thinking of adding in some purple highlights. I'm not sure if I want to try two colors at once or not. :)

Hello Judy. Take a look here - http://www.allfiberarts.com/library/aa97/aa072397.htm

I have not processed flax yet. I did grow it and save the seeds. I did not feel my soil was rich enough yet to produce a quality plant fit for extracting fiber from. I will enrich the soil and try again.

Hi there !
You sound like a very busy lady. With a wonderfully full life.
You'd mentioned about processing flax. Something that I've always
desired to learn. Do you happen to know of a site that teaches how
to do it? I ask that first, seeing you are busy with all that you do do.
But, and anyway, I do thank you for your time.
best to you, Judy

You are right Chris. Some folks might even consider finding a farm that allows them an internship. I have seen that a lot lately. Another option for exploring farm life is to work as a farm hand. It is a lot of hard work, but well worth it.

I could not imagine living here and then going back. I look across the street at the city folk and am glad I am not there. It is funny here because two sides of our property is bordered by city. We live on a corner and the city/county division is in the middle of the street!

Hope you get to move back to the country someday soon! Thanks for posting!

Sheri,

I couldn't agree with you more. The decision to lead a homesteading life (or a basic country one) is something that should be explored by frequent visits to a nearby farm for a while. It's a ton of work. I had a small 5 acre farm for about 4 years - but it was the love of our lives. We hope to get back to that sometime soon. Meanwhile, we'll farm here in suburbia.

Thank you Susi! Believe me, if I could move you in next door, I would! Now, not behind me though because I am anxiously awaiting on Melinda and her husband to move in there!
Yes, we tend to live at Lowe's! LOL! Some days it feels like we might as well work there! This homesteading business calls for lots of tools, plants and building materials! LOL!
Miss you too! Have a safe and happy holiday season!
